BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A man accused of killing his own mother faced a judge on Thursday morning.
Froilan Torres, 41, was indicted on a charge of first-degree manslaughter. He was originally charged with second-degree murder.
Buffalo police were called to a home on South Park Ave. in October, where Torres was accused of beating Gloria Rivera, 57, to death. She had been rushed to a hospital, but later died.
Torres pleaded not guilty Thursday in court.
If convicted of the charge, he could spend up to 25 years in jail.
