SPRINGVILLE, N.Y. (WIVB) — Loved ones held a funeral for 7-year-old Alyssa Hearn.

Hearn died after being pinned under a school bus last week.

It’s almost every little girl’s dream to be a princess and Friday, the Springville community made sure she was treated like one.

Two horses pulled Hearn’s white casket down the streets of the close-knit community. A big picture of her face hung on the back as the carriage peacefully made its way to her final resting place.

Inside the carriage, stuffed animals kept her company and flowers filled the air with a sweet aroma. Alyssa’s little brother helped decorate her princess carriage and found the strength to sit in the front, and be with his big sister before he had to say a final goodbye.

In six days, a GoFundMe page for the family has raised just over $50,000 thanks to the 1,012 people who opened their wallets and hearts to help one family and community heal.
