BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Buffalo State women’s soccer had never reached the NCAA Div. III Tournament, so to host the opening round was a tremendous accomplishment in itself.

Unfortunately, the Bengals’ stay was shorter than they had hoped. The hosts were ousted in the first round by Montclair, who came back from a one-goal deficit to tie the game, send it to overtime and eventually to penalty kicks, where the Bengals were stopped by Montclair keeper Molly Barlow to end the game. Montclair advanced to the next round with a 3-1 victory in penalty kicks.

The Bengals finished the season with a program record 17 wins.
