Dunkirk wins regional title; Lancaster, Cleveland Hill fall short

Marauders go toe-to-toe with undefeated Batavia before emerging victorious in overtime

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) — The Far West Regionals came to a close on Saturday at New Era Field, where a second Section Six team managed to advance to the state semifinals.

Dunkirk knocked off undefeated Batavia 50-48 in overtime to reach the semis for the first time in program history. The Marauders and Blue Devils combined for 42 first quarter points. Once the game reached overtime, Alton Ingram’s 16-yard touchdown run proved to be the winner.

Elsewhere, Lancaster’s undefeated season came to an end to Victor, 33-27, and Cleveland Hill fell to Bishop Kearney 40-38.
