BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) —It’s no secret that vintage sports gear is a hot commodity. Two local entrepreneurs took the interest in merchandise and turned it into a business.

Derrek Hoffman, co-owner of My Cuzin Vintage told News 4,”Anytime you wear vintage Bills clothing, you wear it out, someone will always say something to you. Someone will always compliment you.”

What started as a hobby has now blossomed into a business. My Cuzin Vintage and Everything Buffalo are the finished products of Vince Spano and Derrek Hoffman.

Hoffman shared, “It started with Vince and me collecting vintage gear, Buffalo, over the years, not really for selling purposes, just kind of to have.”

The two collected items like Buffalo Bills Zubaz, super bowl hats, t-shirts, jackets, and more.

When their collection became extensive enough they used social media to start selling their prized possessions.

Hoffman said, “We started on Instagram and learned the Instagram ways and it just grew from there.”

The Instagram page blew up and allowed both young entrepreneurs a chance to open a store front. Last Saturday was the grand opening of My Cuzin Vintage. And the real estate couldn’t be better. The store is in the heart of the Elmwood Village. Whether you’re walking by or make a special trip, it is a nostalgic experience.

Hoffman said, “Bringing back the memories of the super bowls or the glory days of the Bills.”

For those Bills fans who are too young to remember those days, there are items for sale that would interest you too.

Hoffman said, “If you’re not looking for a McCoy jersey and he could be gone in two years, you can get a Kelly jersey that has been there forever.”

And if the Bills are not your cup of tea, but you love to celebrate the city you live in, the store carries a brand called Everything Buffalo. They make everything from crew necks to skateboards that show off your 716 pride. And the price range can fit in any family budget.

Hoffman said, “We like to keep everything cheap and kind of moving in and out.”
