Man charged with shooting Clarence restaurant owner appears in court

CLARENCE, N.Y. (WIVB) — A man accused of shooting a Clarence restaurant owner made his first court appearance Tuesday night.

Prosecutors say 36-year-old Christopher Boyd is charged with shooting the owner of Zoe Restaurant in the arm on Transit Road in Clarence two months ago.

Police say Boyd shot at the victim’s wife and took off with cash. Police arrested Boyd at a Buffalo deli after receiving tips from the community.

Boyd was arraigned on several charges including attempted murder and is in jail. Charges are also pending in a Buffalo City Court on a separate case.

State Police say Boyd could spend life in prison because of the combined charges he is facing and his record of violating parole. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
