Turkey Trot reaches 14,000-person capacity

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Just like last year, the 121st Annual YMCA Turkey Trot has officially sold out.

Officials made the announcement on Tuesday morning.

“We are excited to receive such overwhelming support for the YMCA Turkey Trot,” Geoffrey Falkner, Communications Director for YMCA Buffalo Niagara, said. “The race has become one of Buffalo’s greatest holiday traditions, and our participants are helping to strengthen the Western New York community. Even if you’re not running, you can make an impact by signing up to be a race day volunteer at YMCATurkeyTrot.org.”

14,000 runners and walkers will participate in the event, which starts at the front of the Delaware Ave. YMCA.

Those running or walking in this year’s Turkey Trot can pick up race packets at the Independent Health Family Branch YMCA at 150 Tech Drive in Amherst near ECC North.

For more information, Falkner can be reached at 276-5983 or gfalkner@ymcabn.org.
