BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A WBEN radio announcer received miraculous news, announcing it on-air Wednesday morning. Allan Harris is getting a kidney after spending five years on a transplant waiting list.

Harris, who is a traffic and news anchor, reported the good news as he ended a traffic report on Star 102.5.

“Apparently they’ve got a kidney for me,” he said. The call came in early “without any notice” because “that’s how it works,” WBEN said.

Star 102.5 morning host Rob Lucas commented on the news, saying “It’s amazing because just yesterday we were talking about where he was on the kidney need list.”
