BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Most kids this time of year have a long wish list waiting for Santa on Christmas. But one 8-year-old girl from Angola has a different idea of how she wants to celebrate the season.

This all started a few weeks ago when Savannah Tredo’s mom started decorating their family restaurant with Christmas trees. Her thought process was, “You can’t have Christmas without a Christmas tree.”

So this year she’s make sure everyone celebrates. She said, “I’m just happy that it came true.”

Ttredo is celebrating a long time Christmas wish come true. Her mom, Naomi Jacobs said, “How can you say “no” to an 8-year-old that wants to do something for somebody else. There are not many kids like that around.”

From Dunkirk to Depew, Tredo and her mom went searching for the perfect silver trees. Tredo said, “The children at Children’s Hospital don’t get to see their parents for Christmas. Without a Christmas tree, it’s not Christmas. So I wanted to brighten up their room and have a happy Christmas for them.”

That means no toys for Tredo this year. Instead, she wants to decorate an entire floor at Children’s Hospital. Jacobs said, “She did a good thing, she said all she wants is the kids to have a nice Christmas. And she didn’t even care about her Christmas.”

For weeks Tredo has been asking her community  for donations. Just enough for 24 trees, one for every room on the floor. It’s all l to make the hallways there sparkle, and of course, the kids smile.

Over the next few weeks she’ll be asking for toy donations to drop off there too. Tredo said, “On December 15th, we’re going to bring the toys here and give the toys to the children.”

And next year, Tredo wants to decorate two floors of the hospital.
