LOCKPORT (WIVB) — The attorney for a teen charged with setting a Lockport tire plant on fire claims the boy who died, Joseph Phillips, 14, started it.
The name of the boy who prosecutors charged with helping start the fire has not been released. He was 13 years old at the time of the incident.
The boy faces 10 charges related to the fire, and denied his involvement.
According to the boy’s lawyer, the boy told police that Phillips had a lighter and started the fire.
The lawyer says both boys were mischievous, but that his client did not start it.
