Learning Disabilities Association of WNY joining in on ‘Giving Tuesday’

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — ‘Giving Tuesday’ is a global day of giving back, and it’s all about donating to causes that you care about.

The Learning Disabilities Association of WNY is joining in on the effort by kicking off two year end campaigns. One supports the equitable education fund and the other supports the Starlight Studio and Art Gallery on Delaware Avenue. The art studio offers a vocational program for people with developmental disabilities.

Money raised will go towards the studio as well as a poetry book with original writing and artwork by the studio’s 34 artists. You can make a donation by buying a piece of artwork.

“Everything from drawings, sculptures, paintings, a little bit of everything and everything is for sale so if someone wants to get an original art piece they can definitely do that. There’s many ways to give back today you can have a donation box, you can donate money, you can contact us to donate your time, come buy artwork,” said Katharine Cassens, LDA of WNY Director of Community Relations.

Fifty percent of the money donated will go to the artists. An art show will be taking place at the Starlight Studio and Art Gallery this Saturday from 1-4 pm.
