Police investigating South Buffalo stabbing

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Police are investigating a stabbing at McKinley Parkway and Woodside Avenue from Wednesday evening.

The stabbing allegedly happened just before 5:40 p.m. on the 200 block of Woodside. According to police, Buffalo resident Carl Canterbury, 46, stabbed another man multiple times while they were in the victim’s vehicle.

After this, police say Canterbury went to the 300 block of McKinley Ave. and stole a vehicle. Then, Canterbury allegedly drove the vehicle on the sidewalk in an attempt to hit the victim.

Police say Canterbury turned himself in shortly after the incident.

Canterbury was charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment and unauthorized use of a vehicle.

The victim, a 37-year-old from Buffalo, is in fair condition at ECMC.
