8 men plead not guilty in statewide federal corruption case

NEW YORK, N.Y. (WIVB) — Eight people, including three executives with Buffalo developer LPCiminelli, pleaded not guilty in a statewide federal corruption case Thursday.

Former top Gov. Cuomo aide Joe Percoco, the former head of SUNY Polytechnic Institute Alain Kaloyeros, three executives with Buffalo developer LPCiminelli and three others were indicted last month.

The men appeared in court in New York more than two months after they were accused of being involved with bid-rigging and pay-to-play schemes across the state.

According to the indictment, Louis Ciminelli and executives Michael Laipple and Kevin Schuler allegedly obtained the Buffalo Billion SolarCity project through an unfair bidding process.
