WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. (WIVB)- Family of 37-year-old Jameca Price wants answers.
The Buffalo native and mother of two was found dead in Tucker, Georgia on Thanksgiving; her estranged husband Orlando Price is a suspect.
After 16 years of marriage, Jameca left Price in July.
She was found dead inside inside his condo.
According to family, she went over there to get her car and the title.
Price’s sister Shawntre Allison said the moment she heard Jameca was dead, she knew Orlando was involved.
“Very, very controlling,” she said of her brother-in-law.
Jameca left him after being abused, her family told News 4.
“Even when she would come here to visit, he always to be around her,” Allison said.
Police in Georgia have not told the family how Jameca died. According to a police report there were marks around her neck.
Before Jameca left her husband, Allison reach out in her own way.
“I was watching a TV show and at the end of the show they had a pop-up about domestic violence, and they had a telephone number, you know if you are subject of abuse you don’t have to take it. So I took a picture of that and I posted it to my Facebook page. I didn’t tag anyone, but I was hoping that my sister would see it and get the wheels turning a little bit.”
Price moved out and got her own place. She graduated from law school and was awaiting her bar results. She also ran her own tax business in Georgia.
“She would do anything for her kids, that’s why she had so many things going for her, to provide for her children and for her children to have that strong woman to look up to,” said Price’s younger sister, Janese Gates-McDaniels.
Orlando has been on the run almost a week.
Buffalo Police are aware, but authorities in Georgia are handling the case. Jameca’s family is asking anyone who has seen him to speak up.
“Just put yourself in our shoes,” Gates-McDaniels said.
