Student robbed, stabbed multiple times near UB South

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Police are searching for a suspect after a robbery and assault was reported near the University at Buffalo’s south campus.

A campus alert sent to those at UB says the incident occurred around 5:30 Thursday night on Lisbon Ave. Police say a student was robbed as well as being stabbed eight times with a knife while trying to fight off her attacker.

Police describe the suspect at a black man with a knife, around 5’4″ wearing camouflage jacket with lime-green stripes.

The student is in fair condition.

This is the fourth incident reported near UB South in the last few weeks. In mid-November, multiple students described a man around 5’6″ with a knife wearing a ski mask tried robbing them on campus in the Parker lot.

Due to these recent incidents, police have deployed a special unit to patrol campus and surrounding areas.

The suspects in all reported incidents remain at large. Anyone with information is asked to call the Buffalo “E” district police.

A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
