The Audcast, Episode 9: A fresh start

Jack Eichel's return has sparked a Sabres win streak and an onslaught of goals. Was it all really that simple?

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — On the ninth episode of The Audcast, News 4 Sports’ Tom Martin and NHL.com’s Joe Yerdon discuss Eichel, Eichel, holiday music, Eichel, Evander Kane’s up-and-down season, Jack Eichel and the possibility of this Sabres team finding a new starting point to suddenly pivot themselves into playoff contention.

Mostly, things appear to be good again now that Jack Eichel has returned. His 4 points in 2 games have led Buffalo to two straight wins over two of the Eastern Conference’s best teams, Ottawa and the New York Rangers. Eichel scored two goals in the third period of the Rangers game to lift Buffalo to a comeback win.

So what now? How is Eichel suddenly going on a tear despite dealing with what is supposed to be a nagging injury? What’s changed about his game since we last saw him? And the effect it has on everyone else? Those questions and plenty more are answered in this week’s episode.
