Action taken against students involved in Canisius doll incident

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Investigation by Public Safety into an incident at Canisius College has finished up, according to College President John Hurley.

Back in November, students reported seeing photos on social media that depicted a black doll posed in a dormitory elevator with inflammatory language that involved Donald Trump.

According to Hurley, the college has taken disciplinary action related to the incident, and so, two students involved “have left the college.” Other students the school says were involved have also been sanctioned.

Canisius has retained a recently retired federal prosecutor to look over Public Safety’s investigation.
