Police head to scene of accident at Delaware and Linden

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Police were at the scene of what they called a “serious accident” at Delaware and Linden avenues.

The accident occurred on Friday afternoon and closed parts of Delaware Ave during rush hour.

Sources tell News 4 the 76-year-old driver of the vehicle suffered a medical emergency causing causing him to lose control of the car. The man was driving off Knox Street and crossed when he crashed into a light pole, drove up the sidewalk and struck another light pole on Linden Avenue.

First responders say he coded at the scene but was brought back and taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Police sources say a small dog in the car died in the crash.

It is unclear what the medical condition is that caused the crash. The driver’s name has not been released.
