Person in rescue attempt near Niagara Gorge has been found

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) – New York State Parks Police confirmed that a person they were attempting to rescue has been found.

The rescue attempt occurred  at the Niagara Gorge off of the Robert Moses Parkway by the old sewage treatment plant.

The person who fell in was a 33-year-old man from Buffalo. He fell 75 feet into the gorge.

As of Friday morning, he is hospitalized with head trauma and a broken ankle.
