LEWISTON, N.Y. (WIVB) — Police in Lewiston say they rescued a young deer from Lewiston Rd. on the last day of May.

Officers responded to the scene, where the young animal was in the road near Niagara University.

Police took the deer into a vehicle and dropped it off at a “safer area down the road where it would not get hurt by traffic,” they say.
