Buffalo Police training officer okay after being struck by metal fragments at firing range

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A Buffalo Police training officer is back on the job after an accident at the firing range inside North Tonawanda headquarters.

Officials say the officer was hit in the arm by metal fragments from a bullet that ricocheted off the backstop at the range.

The officer was taken to ECMC to have the fragments removed.

No one else was injured.
