Average price of gas dropping across the nation

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The price of gas is dropping across the nation, with the national average being $2.26/per gallon as of Monday morning. That is a three-cent drop from last week.

In New York, the average price of gas is $2.44/per gallon, which is two cents less than last week.

Here are the average gas prices, per gallon, in some New York cities, such as Buffalo:

  • Buffalo – $2.36
  • Rochester – $2.37
  • Rome – $2.39
  • Syracuse – $2.30

“As we approach the Independence Day holiday weekend, refineries continue to produce record amounts of gasoline – a key contributor to declining gas prices over the past few weeks,” AAA says.

A record number of travelers are expected to hit the road for Independence Day.
