Petitions being accepted for Erie County Board of Elections candidates

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Monday is the first day for potential candidates to submit their petitions to the Erie County Board of Elections.

Prospective political candidates must have at least 2,000 valid signatures in order to make it to the primary election ballot.

Petitions can be submitted at the county’s Records and Supplies office on W. Eagle St. in Buffalo any time between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Submissions will be accepted through Thursday. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
