Man charged in 2008 shooting death of friend found guilty by jury

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A jury in the murder trial for a man accused of shooting his friend in 2008 has returned a guilty verdict.

Erik Donaldson, 32, was convicted of murder in the second degree for fatally shooting his friend, 22-year-old Christian Thomas of Buffalo, nine years ago.

Thomas’ body was found in an area between two houses on Montana Street in April 2008. He had been shot in the face and back.

Thomas had been missing since Dec. 30, 2007.

The jury reached their decision in over eight hours of deliberations following a week-long trial in Erie County Court.
