Red Cross shelter for Buffalo residents impacted by flooding open until Sunday

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – The American Red Cross has opened a shelter in the City of Buffalo for residents forced to evacuate or without utilities due to severe flooding.

The shelter is located at Winchester Elementary School, 650 Harlem Road. It is scheduled to stay open through Sunday morning at 9 a.m.

Red Cross spokesperson Jay Bonafede told News 4 people are welcome to stay the night, or just come in to warm up or grab a bite to eat. One person spent Friday night at the shelter.
